Small businesses choose new online coaching option in bid for quality lifestyle

Small to micro business owners can now streamline their systems for a better quality of life, thanks to a new and unique online business coaching club.

Leading Melbourne business coach Dr Greg Chapman set up the Australian Business Coaching Club (ABCC) to enable small business owners to finally reach for the quality lifestyle they have been chasing since setting up their business.

“I talk to so many small business owners who are working longer hours and taking home less than their staff,” said Greg.

His aim is to free up owners’ time for the tasks that directly generate business revenue, not to mention personal leisure pursuits.

“Business owners need to specialise in the marketing of their business, the relationships with their key customers, or if they are a consultant, the specialist analysis of the problem they have been asked to solve.

“They shouldn’t be spending time on low-value tasks such as doing the books.”

With the small business failure rate running high (Australian Bureau of Statistics figures showed 42 per cent of businesses that started up in 2003/04 had closed within three years), he said the best chance for small business to thrive was by setting up systems to make outsourcing and delegation work effectively, and employing smart, low-cost marketing strategies.

Until now, the major obstacle for most business owners has been finding the time and funds to learn and implement smart strategies.

“These strategies aren’t taught in school, and most small to micro businesses haven’t got the funds to employ a private business coach, nor the time to study tertiary-level courses covering effective business and marketing strategies,” said Greg.

The flexibility and low cost of the online Club enables small business owners to learn strategies and put systems in place so the business effectively runs itself – giving them more time to focus on the aspects of the business they do best, and the leisure and family time they crave.

The ABCC curriculum can be worked through month by month at an individual pace, and timed to fit around a demanding workday.

Members have access to specialist advisers, including accountants and insurance experts, and one-to-one coaching sessions with Greg Chapman. The Club also offers tele-classes on topics such as managing cash flow, and provides a variety of business tools and templates.

The Club is ideal for sole operators or those employing two to three people and earning up to $200,000.

Greg has already helped small business owners in their 30s and 40s turn their lives and their businesses around, and is working with older owners needing to overturn a stagnant business ready to sell as they start thinking about moving towards retirement.
