PublicityShip Hidden Jewel Awards: Prizes

National Award

The national winner will receive a 12-month publicity campaign from PublicityShip, valued at over $4,000, and blog facility or complete blogsite, valued at $3,000.

The winning campaign

Dinner at Port DouglasThere is plenty of evidence to suggest that publicity (or editorial coverage) is far more effective than paid advertising when it comes to acquiring and converting clients.

By working with the media to tell your newsworthy story, we can maximise your chance of getting media exposure.

Depending on your marketing objectives, your publicity campaign might target local media outlets within your region, or national outlets, focusing on the region as a whole or solely on your enterprise.

The winner’s publicity campaign will start with a publicity planning meeting to establish your three most newsworthy stories and advise on photos.

We will then assign one of our experienced journalists to interview you to develop a media distribution plan and your first targeted news release.

Once you are happy with the news release, we will distribute it to your top six media outlets. These might include travel industry magazines, consumer travel or lifestyle magazines, community newspapers or TV travel shows.

Distribution includes direct contact with the decision-makers, with full follow-up, including handling images and arranging interviews.

We will prepare and distribute a news release for each successive story, running the full campaign over a 12-month period.

Each month of the 12-month campaign you will receive a summary of all media coverage of your company in newspapers and magazines.

The benefits of blogging

Blogging is an effective way to help potential visitors find your website and return time and again, while building trust in your business. Glenn recently wrote a blog post about blogging for tourism operators, with compelling web statistics that support the strategy.

Cable Beach fishingBy blogging about your destination, potential clients are more likely to find you when they are researching their next trip, and keeping your site alive in this way will keep readers coming back and help move you up the search engine rankings.

The blog service consists of a blog plan to workshop the benefits and features of your blog facility.

We will then set up your blog for you, whether linked to your existing site, or as a whole new site, with your existing content transferred across. The new site would be user-friendly enough for you to insert and edit your own content, insert images, and tell stories about your business, your destination and your satisfied customers.

State Awards

Each state or territory winner will receive a single-story campaign from PublicityShip run over a three-month period, valued at approximately $1,700.
