Blog Setup

If you don’t already have a business blogsite, or require an upgraded website with integrated blog, PublicityShip can assist with the setup of a new blog / blogsite based on Wordpress. Sample sites are available for review.

Establishing a business weblog can be achieved in a number of ways, including the use of free services. The PublicityShip offering is designed for small businesses seeking a full featured, customised blog with the option of an integrated website with self-managed content.

Site Planning. PublicityShip will hold planning meetings with you and prepare a document detailing your site requirements. PublicityShip will prepare a site plan based on a core blog and optional website pages (with user definable content), and a brief for custom graphics to support client requirements (such as supporting a client-supplied logo or colour scheme). Decisions are made so the site supports business objectives, covering areas such as:

• Content team support includes Administrator, Editor and Author privileged roles.
• RSS feed support includes integration with FeedBurner and registration with Technorati.
• Blog post support includes categories, trackbacks, permalinks, comments and email, and integration with Del.icio.us and Digg.
• Analytics integration includes Google Analytics, subject to provision of account code by client (registration required with Google).
• Automatic generation of a sitemap of static pages (including user created pages) is included.
• Integration of up to 6 PayPal payment buttons is included, subject to provision of encrypted ‘pay now’ buttons (linked to the client’s PayPal account).
• Administration support includes user initiated backup and maintenance mode option.

Site Setup. After sign off on the Site Plan, PublicityShip will build the blog / blogsite based on the current release of Wordpress and test it. A graphic concept will be prepared based on the brief (with up to 3 iterations included) prior to final graphics being prepared by a graphic designer.

Site Handover. After setup, the site is handed over to the client, including administrator account privileges. Hosting and support arrangements are required to be in place, or arranged through a PublicityShip Blog Support service.

Notes.

• Static website pages may be distributed across 2 level or 3 level menus.
• Content for website pages is user definable, and new pages may be added to menus by users.
• The PublicityShip Blog Setup service is based on access to a dedicated (or equivalent virtual server) Wordpress server with root access.
• Integration with client registered domain included, or domain registration available for $100 (including first 12 months domain registration).
• Integration with existing client email address(es) included in pricing, or email services for the site domain are available for $250.
• Integration of client supplied logo or graphics included, or development of custom logo for the site available for $650.
• Where PublicityShip is deploying a site to a hosting service selected by the client, the client will liaise with the hosting provider to ensure provision of base requirements for Linux, Wordpress, MySQL, DNS, as well as resolution of technical support requests.
• The WordPress platform is a very flexible platform, and in many cases additional functions are available through the use of plugins (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/). Additional services (such as additional plugin integration) are available at $150/hr, subject to agreement in advance by both parties.
